Information, not legal advice

The site shows the Bureau of Indian Standards' public lists of products under compulsory certification as BIS publishes them, read on the date shown, with a link to each list and order. It does not decide whether a Quality Control Order applies to your product: the order published in the Gazette governs, the ministry that issued it answers questions on its scope, and BIS answers whether a product falls under an Indian Standard. A product missing from a search does not mean it needs no certification. Ask BIS, the ministry or a lawyer before relying on the site for a decision that matters.

The site is not a BIS service and is not affiliated with BIS or the Government of India. Applications, tests and fees are made with BIS and its laboratories.

The site is free and provided without warranty of accuracy, completeness or timeliness. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from its use. This does not apply where the law does not allow it.

You may use the search freely and link to the pages. Do not disrupt the site or use it for unlawful purposes.
